Biography

Joanne Craighead is a native born New Hampshire resident, the daughter of two French Canadian parents and the eldest of four sisters. She attended West High School in Manchester and at the age of nineteen while attending college, she became a licensed real estate broker. She continued her education and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Notre Dame College and her Juris Doctor degree from Franklin Pierce Law Center (now known as University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law ). She began her law career as an associate for a local law firm handling a variety of different types of cases. In 1992, she opened her own firm "Craighead & Martin, PLLC" with her husband, Rodkey Craighead. Their firm ‘s general practice of law included criminal defense work, civil litigation, real estate, probate and estate planning, and domestic relations. In May of 2017, Rodkey died unexpectedly but Joanne continued the practice focusing on her specialties of estate planning, probate and real estate. She continues her mission of serving clients with care and compassion and attention to detail. Joanne is patient and responsive to the needs of her clients and her French Canadian background allows her to services the French Canadian community in the greater Manchester area.

Joanne's professional memberships include the NH Bar Association, the Manchester Bar Association and the Hillsborough County Women's Bar Association. Her public service work includes past membership on the Pamphlets subcommittee and the Law Week subcommittee of the NH Bar Association and the United States Commission on Civil Rights. She has been an incorporator of the Franco-American Centre for many years and served as secretary to the Board of Trustees for the last five years and remains an active member of the Board of Trustees of Franco-American Centre.

Joanne currently resides in Manchester with her two sons. She values the time she spends with her family and enjoys a variety of activities including reading, walking and travel.
